Two Musketeers by Friz Freleng
The romanticism of adventure is the name of the game, in this 16-field limited cel from famed Warner Bros. director Friz Freleng. Set in a beautiful and dramatic medieval castle, our hero Bugs Bunny shows that rapscallion Daffy Duck the literal edge of his rapier-like wit. As Bugs denudes Daffy of his plumage, he truly knows that "...Swashbuckling is as swashbuckling does...Doc!" This limited edition cel began with a drawing by Friz Freleng. The master line image was then silkscreened onto an acetate sheet (or "cel") along with the Warner Bros. Masters Collection/Friz Freleng seal. Each cel was then expertly hand-painted on the reverse side. The original background was reproduced using a four-color lithography process on acid-free paper. The edition number was hand-inked on each cel in an edition of 750. Finally, Mr. Freleng approved each cel with his signature. Learn More -
To Play or Not to Play
In a scene from the smash hit movie Space Jam, Bugs Bunny calls upon his classical theater training, referencing the famous "To be or not to be" scene from Shakespeare's Hamlet to convince superstar Michael Jordan to join the Toon Squad in the basketball game to end all basketball games. This cel began with a master inking of Bugs Bunny (from the animation drawings) which was silkscreened onto an acetate sheet (or "cel"). Each cel was then meticulously hand-inked and hand-painted on the reverse side to capture the 3-D shadow effect created by computer modeling for the film. Through the miracle of modern technology, the digital background was composed with the image of Michael Jordan, (both taken directly from the movie) and was reproduced using the lithography process. Each cel was silkscreened with the Warner Bros. Animation Art seal. In the final step of production, the limited edition number was hand-inked on each eel in an edition size of 500. This 16 field cel is not signed by Michael Jordan. Learn More
